Dana Evan

Former CFO and Executive Vice President, VeriSign, Inc.

Dana Evan brings to Proofpoint deep strategic and operational expertise along with experience in guiding the growth of SaaS companies. Ms. Evan spent 12 years as the CFO of VeriSign, Inc. (VRSN) until her retirement in 2007. From 1988 to June 1996, Ms. Evan worked as a financial consultant in the capacity of chief financial officer, vice president of finance or corporate controller for various public and private companies and partnerships, including VeriSign, Inc.In addition to her board role at Proofpoint, she currently serves as a director for Everyday Health (EVDY), Fusion-IO (FIO), SaaS Web analytics and business optimization vendor Omniture, Inc. (OMTR), Second Life developer Linden Labs, and non-profit organization Health Trust. She also served for several years on the board of Omniture, Inc. (OMTR), which was acquired in October 2009 by Adobe Systems, Inc. for $1.8 billion dollars and on the board of MySQL, a venture-backed startup which was acquired by Sun Microsystems for $1 billon dollars in February 2008. Additionally, Ms. Evan also served on the board of Luxe Jewels (dba- Stella and Dot). Ms. Evan also participates in angel venture investing activities and advisory services for companies in the Internet, Technology, and Media arenas. Ms. Evan is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting and Finance from Santa Clara University. She is actively involved with several charitable organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club of America, the Health Trust of Santa Clara County and the University of Santa Clara Business School.

Jon Feiber

In more than 10 years of venture investing, Jon Feiber has identified and guided numerous entrepreneurs and played a significant role in growing category-leading companies. A general partner at Mohr Davidow, he leads investments in computing and infrastructure companies. Mr. Feiber currently serves on the boards of such portfolio companies as CarrierIQ, hi5, IronKey, Panasas, and Proofpoint. Mr. Feiber launched his high-technology career at Amdahl, where he served as senior engineer. He then joined Sun Microsystems in 1983. At Sun, Mr. Feiber worked in various managerial positions overseeing product development and strategy in the areas of software development environments, software engineering technologies, and networking. When he left Sun to join MDV in 1991, he was Sun’s vice president of networking. Mr. Feiber holds a B.S. degree in computer science and mathematics from the University of Colorado.

Eric Hahn

Inventures Group

Eric Hahn is the founding partner of the Inventures Group, a leading “mentor investment” firm based in Palo Alto, California. At Inventures, Mr. Hahn has served as a director and has been actively involved with companies including Kana, Red Hat, LoudCloud, Good Technology, and RemarQ. Previously, Mr. Hahn served as the CTO for Netscape Communications, Inc. and was a member of the company’s Executive Committee. In addition, Mr. Hahn was the founder and CEO of Collabra Software, Inc., a leading groupware provider that was acquired by Netscape in 1995. Prior to Collabra, Mr. Hahn ran the cc:Mail division of Lotus Development Corporation. Mr. Hahn began his career at Bolt, Beranek and Newman, where he worked on the ARPAnet, the precursor to the Internet. Mr. Hahn holds a B.S. degree and an honorary Ph.D. in computer science from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Kevin Harvey

Kevin Harvey is one of the founders of Benchmark Capital and has extensive business-building experience as well as a long track record of developing innovative technologies into successful enterprises. Mr. Harvey’s current board seats include Abaco, Allegis, Bytemobile, Collabnet, Keen, Kana (KANA), Kontiki, Qlusters, and Tellme. Before founding Benchmark, Mr. Harvey was founder, president and CEO of Approach Software, where he led the development of the world’s first end-user client-server database for Windows. Approach was purchased by Lotus Development in 1993. Before founding Approach, Mr. Harvey founded Styleware and pioneered integrated software for the Apple II personal computer. Styleware was purchased by Claris Corporation, where Mr. Harvey's team created ClarisWorks, one of the best-selling software programs for the Macintosh. Mr. Harvey received his B.S. degree in engineering from Rice University in 1987.

Phil Koen

Phil Koen is Chairman and CEO of Intermedia, a leading provider of cloud services—including hosted Microsoft Exchange—to small and mid-size businesses. Koen previously served as CEO and director of Savvis (NASDAQ: SVVS), a global leader in cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions for enterprises. Prior to that, he was president and COO of Equinix (NASDAQ: EQIX), a leading provider of network-neutral data centers and Internet exchange services. He has more than 20 years of industry C-level experience. In addition to his role at Proofpoint, Koen serves on the board of directors of Infinera Corp (NASDAQ: INFN), an optical networking company, and serves on the Board of Trustees for Webster University. He earned a bachelor's degree from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from the University of Virginia.

Gary Steele

Gary Steele brings a broad range of enterprise software experience to Proofpoint. Before joining Proofpoint, Mr. Steele served as the CEO of Portera, an applications company delivering solutions for the professional services industry. Under Mr. Steele’s leadership, Portera raised more than $100M in capital from some of the leading venture capitalists, including Kleiner Perkins, IVP, and American Express, and grew the business from its initial concept to $20M in revenue. Before Portera, Mr. Steele served as the vice president and general manager of the Middleware and Data Warehousing Product Group at Sybase, Inc., an organization of more than 350 people, spanning four geographies and generating $150M in revenue. In this capacity, he initiated and spearheaded all new Internet projects targeted at the enterprise. Mr. Steele’s prior experience includes business development, marketing, and engineering roles at Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard. He holds a B.S. degree in computer science from Washington State University.

Rob Ward

Meritech Capital Partners

Rob Ward was a founder of Meritech in 1999 and leads Meritech's investment practice in the enterprise infrastructure and data center markets including storage, security and database sectors. Rob joined Meritech from Montgomery Securities/Banc of America where he was a principal in the Private Equity Group, raising late stage capital for private information technology companies. Prior to joining Montgomery, Rob was with Smith Barney, where he spent five years in the Corporate Finance Department in New York and San Francisco. Rob received a B.A. degree from Williams College and a M.S. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
