Karen Richardson

CEO of E.piphany

Karen Richardson's 20-year career in the software business includes positions as a key player in several well-known and highly successful companies. Prior to joining E.piphany, Ms. Richardson held senior sales positions at Netscape Communications Corporation from 1995-1998, during which time Netscape's sales grew from $80 million to over $500 million annually. Ms. Richardson was instrumental in establishing Netscape's enterprise presence in vertical industries such as Telecommunications, Financial Services and Media/Communications. Prior to her position at Netscape, Ms. Richardson was VP of Worldwide Sales at Collabra Software, Inc., and worked for four years with Lotus Development Corporation in a variety of sales and marketing roles, as well as at cc:Mail and 3Com Corporation. Ms. Richardson holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and award distinctions from the Stanford Industrial Engineering Department and the American Institute of Industrial Engineers (AIIE).

Danny Shader

President and CEO of Good Technology, Inc

Danny Shader is president and CEO of Good Technology, Inc. Prior to Good, Mr. Shader served as a vice president and general manager at Amazon.com. Mr. Shader co-founded and was CEO of Accept.com, the first consumer-to-consumer payment services company. Mr. Shader's involvement in Accept.com and Good Technology resulted from his work as an entrepreneur-in-residence shared between Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Benchmark Capital. Previously, Mr. Shader was vice president of partner and developer relations at Netscape Communications Corporation. Mr. Shader earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California at Berkeley in 1984 and an M.B.A. from Stanford University in 1989.

Matthew Szulik

Chairman and CEO of Red Hat, Inc.

Matthew Szulik has been leading early-stage technology companies such as Interleaf, MapInfo, and Red Hat into global, publicly traded firms for more than 20 years. In 1998, Mr. Szulik and Red Hat founder Bob Young developed a shared vision that the collaborative approach of open source and a great brand could redistribute the economics of the technology industry from vendor to customer. Today, Red Hat is the leading provider of Linux and open source technology to the enterprise and is positioned to be the defining technology company of the 21st century. Mr. Szulik is currently the Chairman of the Science and Technology Board for State of North Carolina's Economic Development Board and is a director of TIBCO Software Inc.. He is past Chairman and an Executive Director of the North Carolina Electronics and Information Technologies Association.

Ed Zander

Chairman and CEO of Motorola, Inc. and former President and COO of Sun Microsystems

Ed Zander is chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola, Inc. He joined Motorola in this capacity on January 5, 2004. Mr. Zander brings more than 25 years of experience in technology companies to the Proofpoint leadership team. Most recently, he was a managing director of Silver Lake Partners, a leading private equity fund focused on investments in technology industries. Prior to Silver Lake Partners, Mr. Zander was president and chief operating officer of Sun Microsystems until June 2002. During his tenure, Mr. Zander grew Sun to $18 billion in revenues, establishing it as the number-one company in the server market and a pre-eminent supplier of network infrastructure. He oversaw the company's manufacturing, research and development, sales and marketing, and through his efforts clearly established Sun as an industry leader in systems and software. Earlier, Mr. Zander served as president of Sun's software group, where he oversaw the development and marketing of Solaris and led Sun's network management, PC integration, and software product suites. Prior to joining Sun in 1987, Zander held senior management positions at Apollo Computer and Data General. Mr. Zander serves as a director of Seagate Technology. He is also a director of several educational and non-profit organizations, including the Jason Foundation for Education, the science advisory board of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the advisory board of the School of Management of Boston University. Mr. Zander holds an M.B.A. degree from Boston University and a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
