LinkedIn (LNKD) and Proofpoint (PFPT) unveiled a deeper compliance partnership Monday amid reports that Facebook (FB) CEO Mark Zuckerberg's Twitter (TWTR) and Pinterest accounts had been hacked over the weekend.

Zuckerberg's accounts have since been restored, according to Reuters. The hackers seemed to suggest Zuckerberg's LinkedIn password was among 117 million stolen in 2012 and now being sold on the black market.

The Facebook CEO last tweeted in 2012. On Sunday, his Twitter account @finkd "You were in LinkedIn Database with the password 'dadada' ! DM (direct message ) for proof," according to a screen grab from Katacoda founder Ben Hall.

On Pinterest, the hackers apparently let Zuckerberg know they were "just testing your security." The dual hack comes a month after LinkedIn acknowledged a 2012 data breach was more extensive than initially thought.

In May, LinkedIn let users know it had invalidated all LinkedIn accounts created prior to the breach that hadn't since updated their passwords. It's also working more deeply with cybersecurity firm Proofpoint, as of Monday.

LinkedIn first tapped Proofpoint in January to monitor accounts in real time, stop hackers from defacing pages, remove malicious content and prevent unauthorized publishing.

"The deepened relationship will include expanded collaboration around social media security and compliance," Proofpoint said in a statement Monday. The partnership includes collaboration with Proofpoint acquisitions Nexgate and Socialware.

In afternoon trading on the stock market today, Proofpoint stock was up more than 1%, above 63, while Twitter stock was up 1% and shares of Facebook and LinkedIn were up a fraction.
