As digital workspaces expand, attackers are targeting people across email and other digital channels, such as collaboration and messaging tools, social media platforms, cloud apps and file-sharing services.

Beyond targeting employees, attackers can also hijack trusted business communications, disrupting relationships with suppliers and customers. This leads to an increased attack surface and fragmented security landscape. To protect themselves, organizations end up overspending on disconnected point products and leaving gaps in their defenses in the process.

That’s why we’re proud to share that Proofpoint has been recognized as a Leader in the Forrester Wave™: Email, Messaging, And Collaboration Security Solutions, Q2 2025

This report evaluated 10 of the most significant providers in the space, measuring them against 27 rigorous criteria. According to the Forrester report, Proofpoint is a “great choice for firms seeking complete, continually evolving coverage of email, messaging, and collaboration security as well as awareness training from one provider.”

Our report highlights

We believe Forrester acknowledged several key Proofpoint strengths in the report:

Detection accuracy across the lifecycle

Forrester noted that Proofpoint delivers high-efficacy inbound and outbound threat detection, earning the highest possible marks in the malicious message and account compromise detection, anti-malware and sandboxing, malicious URL detection and web security criteria.

Just-in-time user training that works

Forrester cited Proofpoint’s real-time awareness and training moments as well-crafted. This training, combined with its Very Attacked People™ reporting, helps reduce human-activated risk by tailoring education to each user’s risk profile.

XDR and IAM partner ecosystem

Forrester recognized these partnerships including  integrations with major identity and access management (IAM) and extended detection and response (XDR) players like CyberArk and CrowdStrike to enhance the effectiveness of each solution.

Incident response and analyst experience

Forrester noted that Proofpoint customers expect that upcoming integrations will bring together acquired and legacy capabilities into fewer modules

As cyber threats have grown more advanced, so has Proofpoint’s commitment to protecting your people and data. Over the past few years, we’ve significantly expanded our platform to cover a broader range of threats—from inbound email threats and  messaging/collaboration app attacks to supplier threats and account compromise. That breadth has been a critical advantage for our customers, enabling security teams to respond to threats with greater context and precision.

At the same time, the analyst experience for incident response hasn’t always kept pace with the growing depth and breadth of the platform. That’s exactly why we launched the Threat Protection Workbench earlier this year. It brings together detection, investigation, and response in a single interface—consolidating key functionality into one streamlined analyst view. And while we’ve received tremendous positive customer feedback, it’s  just the start. The workbench is foundational to our roadmap: we’re actively building toward a more unified experience across more parts of the platform, with the goal of making incident investigation and response faster, easier, and more intuitive for every customer across the broadest set of human centric threats.

Our commitment to customers

Recognition in the Forrester Wave is meaningful, but what matters most is how we show up for our customers. This includes:

  • Continuing to provide our customers with world-class, human centric protection
  • Enabling more efficient security teams by unifying disparate analyst and administrator workflows
  • Scaling protection across modern messaging tools to protect customers on more channels
  • Giving security teams time back with automation and actionable context
  • Automating targeted, risk-based user guidance and education

We believe that cybersecurity isn’t just about blocking threats—it’s about empowering people and protecting what matters most.
