Wisdom Before Wisdom 2021: The Security Awareness Event You Don’t Want to Miss

Share with your network!

Information security is a tough job. There are limited resources and new technologies to learn. And too often, the IT security department gets the spotlight only when something goes wrong. So, it would be nice to have some extra help in protecting your organization.

Proofpoint Wisdom 2021 Security Awareness Conference

That’s where your people come in. As the past year has proven, people are resilient. And at the Proofpoint Wisdom 2021 conference on June 10, we’re going to show you how to build a culture of security awareness and make your users part of the IT security team.

But it won’t just be Proofpoint paving the way. We have some amazing speakers who are industry experts, as well as a collection of your peers and customers who will share their experiences in building premier security awareness programs.

A rock-star lineup of behavior-change experts

Jason Cox, the CISO of Elevate Textiles, knows a thing or two about user behavior. His “Eight Simple Rules to Change User Behavior” is a framework for actionable steps you can take to transform your program. The result of taking these steps is not only reduced risk but an organizational culture that values security.

For our panel lineup, we have some of the leading names in security awareness for a discussion you don’t want to miss. Brian Reed, former Gartner analyst and author of the Market Guide for Security Awareness, will be leading the panel with some true behavior-change rock stars in tow:

  • Dr. Keri Pearlson is the Executive Director of the Cybersecurity at MIT Sloan. Pearlson’s research spans MIS, business strategy and organizational design. Her current research examines how organizations build a culture of cybersecurity and trust to share mitigations for cyber breaches.
  • Masha Arbisman is on the front lines of Behavioral Engineering at Verizon Media. She co-authored with Dr. Pearlson and her colleagues an incredible case study about how her team uses a combination of cognitive (behavioral) science practices and technology to mitigate human risk.
  • Robbie Meitler, AVP of Liberty Mutual, leads cyber crisis response readiness and cybersecurity awareness for a global financial services company with advocacy to change employee behavior and build a cybersecurity and data protection culture.

And we saved the best for last with our keynote speaker Nir Eyal. Nir is the author of Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products and Indistractable How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life. Previously, he taught as a Lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Design School and has sold two technology companies since 2003. Nir will talk about how to employ behavioral design to influence and change user behavior at your organization.

Learn how security awareness is evolving

According to the 2021 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, 85% of breaches involve human error. For organizations to have a stronger cybersecurity posture, they need to build awareness and change behavior and grow a culture of cybersecurity. Doing so goes beyond phishing simulations, knowledge assessments and training and includes a holistic approach to cybersecurity culture.
