Why Proofpoint
| Capability | Traditional Awareness Training | Proofpoint ZenGuide |
|---|---|---|
| Threat-informed training | Centres on scheduled training rather than continuously updated threat context | Uses threat intelligence to reduce user risk by shifting from templated sessions to a personalised, behaviour-driven approach |
| Risk-based training | Delivers standardised training across user populations with limited adaptation to individual risk | Personalises education based on user risk, role, behaviour, and threat exposure |
| Phishing simulations | Relies on prebuilt simulation templates rather than live organisational threats | Creates realistic simulations from current attacks targeting your organisation |
| Adaptive learning | Uses predefined learning paths and campaign schedules | Adjusts learning automatically with AI-driven content based on user behaviour, performance, and risk |
| Behaviour change | Focuses on knowledge transfer and awareness activities | Reinforces learning at the point of risk with just-in-time coaching moments triggered by user actions |
| Program automation | Requires administrators to manage campaigns, assignments, and updates | Automates targeting, enrolment, and recommendations based on user behaviour to reduce administrative effort |
| Security metrics | Measures participation, assessments, and campaign performance | Measures behaviour change, resilience, and user risk over time |
Embed risk‑based learning into every collaboration channel with Proofpoint Collaboration Security Prime. Stop the most advanced attacks across email, collaboration tools, and cloud apps with a single integrated solution.

Risk-based security awareness training tailors education to each person using signals such as behaviour, role, access, threat exposure, and phishing performance. Traditional programs often give every employee the same periodic content.
A risk-based approach detects who needs support, delivers timely interventions, reinforces secure choices, and evaluates whether behaviour improves. Proofpoint ZenGuide applies this Detect, Intervene, Change Behaviour, and Evaluate framework to focus learning on the people and actions that create the greatest exposure.
Security awareness training is most effective when it changes behaviour and reduces measurable human risk, rather than treating course completion as the main outcome.
Organisations should track simulation performance, knowledge assessments, reporting behaviour, risky actions, and changes in individual or group risk over time. Proofpoint ZenGuide monitors training and simulation activity, campaign outcomes, and behaviour indicators. Its dashboards and benchmarking help teams show program impact, identify where intervention is still needed, and refine their strategy.
Traditional security awareness training often delivers the same scheduled content to everyone, even though people face different threats and create different levels of risk. Compliance-focused training can improve knowledge without showing whether employees make safer choices in real situations.
Reducing human cyber risk requires continuous insight into user behaviour and threat exposure, followed by relevant guidance, simulations, and reinforcement. A risk-based program adapts as risk changes and measures whether the intervention improves behaviour.
Proofpoint ZenGuide uses human risk insights from the Proofpoint platform to help identify people and groups that need intervention.
Human Risk Explorer correlates signals across data, awareness, and threat risk, including user behaviour, business role, access, phishing performance, and attack exposure. ZenGuide can use those insights to create adaptive groups and assign targeted learning. Security teams can see why risk is changing, focus resources on the highest-impact users, and track risk over time.
Proofpoint ZenGuide can turn phishing attacks detected in an organisation’s environment into safe simulation templates with AI ThreatFlip Workflow.
ThreatFlip clones the real message, removes harmful elements and sensitive data, and produces a realistic template with one click. This helps security teams keep simulations aligned with the attacks targeting their organisation while reducing manual template creation. Teams can place the resulting simulations within broader learning paths that include assessments and guided education.
