Proofpoint Anticipates Growing Demand for People-Centric Cyber Security Solutions

SEOUL, South Korea, April 6, 2022 – Proofpoint, Inc., a leading cybersecurity and compliance company, today announced the expansion of its international operations to include a presence in South Korea. To lead this expansion into North Asia, Andrew Seok-Ho Lee has been announced as the Country Manager for the Republic of Korea. In this role, Andrew is responsible for establishing and growing Proofpoint’s business in this region, as well as the definitive positioning of Proofpoint as a leader in people-centric cyber security solutions.

According to Gartner®, the South Korea Enterprise security market as a whole has an anticipated 8.3% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) through 2025 and will be worth around US$3.4B in 2025. Among the markets pushing this growth are Cloud Access Security Brokers Software, Enterprise Data Loss Prevention Software, Secure E-Mail Gateway Software and Threat Intelligence Software with a combined potential 15.3% CAGR.¹

Andrew brings with him almost 30 years’ executive experience within the technology sector and in the last 20 years gained extensive experience within cyber security. He is an accomplished business leader and has proven experience in leading the introduction of international organisations within the South Korean market. Before Proofpoint, he held various senior leadership positions at BlueCoat, Symantec, SumoLogic, and Cisco.

Proofpoint recently released its FY 2021 financial results, which showed both revenue and billings growing by more than 20% year-over-year, with new and add-on bookings up by 25% year-over-year. As part of its rapid and successful transition to operating as a private company under Thoma Bravo, L.P. ownership, Proofpoint also announced an accelerated plan to hire over 600 people in 2022 across all organisations and all locations.
