UK-U.S. Data Bridge Effective as of October 12, 2023

On September 21, 2003, the UK announced the establishment of the UK-US data bridge (the "Bridge"), which is also known as the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (the “DPF”). Effective as of October 12, 2023, personal data can flow safely from the UK and Gibraltar to US for companies that have certified under the DPF and opted to extend their DPF certification to include such personal data transfers, without having to put in place additional data protection safeguards.

Proofpoint is pleased to announce that it is certified under the DPF, adheres to the DPF principles, and has extended its DPF certification through the Bridge to include UK-US and Gibraltar-US personal data transfers.

Notwithstanding Proofpoint’s certification, Proofpoint will continue to include the Standard Contractual Clauses in its standard data processing agreement as an available data transfer mechanism for personal data transfers outside of the UK and Gibraltar.
