Built for What’s Next: Proofpoint’s 2025 Results and the Opportunity Ahead

Looking back on fiscal year 2025, I’ll start with a simple reflection: Proofpoint continues to deliver what matters most to our customers at pivotal moments. We innovate with purpose, execute with consistency, and grow with discipline as the nature of work, data, and risk changes faster than ever. 

2025 was a year of strong performance, and more importantly, it reinforced that Proofpoint is built for this moment and ready to lead customers into what comes next. 

Strong Q4 and 2025 Results Across the Business 

In Q4 and for the full year of 2025, Proofpoint delivered great momentum and growth, reflecting sustained demand for our platform as organizations continue to consolidate security vendors and prioritize solutions that protect people, data, and AI across email, collaboration, cloud, and SaaS environments. 

Key performance highlights include: 

  • Annual Recurring Revenue continued to grow at a strong double-digit rate year over year, exiting 2025 at $2.45 billion. 
  • We welcomed more than 2,000 new customers globally. 
  • We continued to have strong retention, and higher net promoter scores within our customer base. 
  • In response to industry change, customers are increasingly choosing Proofpoint as a long-term strategic partner, expanding multi-solution adoption across our portfolio and committing to multi-year relationships. 
  • Collaboration Security Prime was our fastest-growing product launch to date, with a record number of new customers and upgrades.

This broad adoption is driven by our relentless focus on delivering a best-in-class portfolio, reinforced by industry validation. In 2025, Proofpoint achieved 14 Leader positions across analyst evaluations, including recognition as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Email Security Platforms and a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Communications Governance. 

In December, we also completed the Hornetsecurity acquisition and welcomed the team to Proofpoint. With 365 Total Protection, we can now extend our reach across MSPs and SMBs globally and further strengthen our partner ecosystem. 

Why This Moment Matters 

While 2025 performance is important, the bigger story is the moment we are entering. 

The way work gets done has fundamentally changed. People now work alongside AI assistants, copilots, and autonomous agents that operate across the enterprise. This is the agentic workspace. 

It brings a dramatic expansion of risk. While humans and AI agents face similar threats, the speed, scale, and blast radius are fundamentally different, requiring security models grounded in human protection. 

This is not a future problem. It is a present reality for our customers. 

Proofpoint Was Built for This Moment 

Proofpoint’s strategy has always been rooted in a simple truth: people are at the center of modern risk. While I’m pleased with our performance in 2025, I’m even more excited about what 2026 represents. The agentic era is creating a significant opportunity not only for Proofpoint, but for how our customers operate, compete, and grow their businesses. As organizations rethink productivity, efficiency, and new AI-driven business models, they need security that enables progress, not friction.

We have the scale, platform, intelligence, and most importantly, the Proofpoint team to help customers adopt AI with confidence and turn it into a durable business advantage. 2025 demonstrated the strength of our foundation, and the agentic era will define the next phase of value creation for our customers and our company.
