Proofpoint Deepens Marketing Leadership Team as Part of Global Growth Strategy
Luanne Tierney named as SVP Marketing and Ryan Kalember as SVP Product Marketing
SUNNYVALE, Calif., – June 18, 2015 – Proofpoint, Inc., (NASDAQ: PFPT), a leading next-generation security and compliance company, today announced the appointment of Luanne Tierney to the position of senior vice president of Marketing and Ryan Kalember to the position of senior vice president of Product Marketing. The new executive marketing team will build on the company’s leadership in advanced threat protection to create a comprehensive brand identity integrating recent acquisitions, innovative product developments and rapid worldwide expansion.

With more than 20 years of marketing and branding experience in the networking security industry, Luanne Tierney has held senior-level global marketing positions with Fortinet, Cisco, 3Com and Juniper Networks. She comes to Proofpoint from Fortinet where she was responsible for corporate marketing strategy as well as spearheading key branding and social/digital marketing initiatives. At Fortinet, Tierney quickly ramped up its marketing presence to support the highest growth rate in the company’s history. Prior to Fortinet, Tierney was vice president of global partner marketing at Juniper Networks. During her Juniper tenure, Forrester Research recognized her for delivering the most innovative partner marketing in the industry. At Cisco, she built her reputation in the industry as a thought leader in digital marketing and social media as the way to drive demand in the market.
Ryan Kalember, a 15-year veteran of the information security industry, brings a wide range of strategic hands-on experience and expertise to the Proofpoint product marketing team. Kalember joins Proofpoint most recently from WatchDox where he served as chief marketing officer and was responsible for successfully building and leading product and marketing teams through the company’s acquisition by BlackBerry. Prior to WatchDox, he was instrumental in running solutions across Hewlett-Packard’s portfolio of security products, served as director of product marketing at ArcSight, and also held a variety of leadership marketing positions at VeriSign, including EMEA regional manager and senior product manager. Kalember’s years of product marketing leadership, coupled with his strong understanding of EMEA market segments, will be critical assets as Proofpoint continues to grow and expand its product suite.
