At Proofpoint, our mission has always been clear: protect people and defend data. In a world where 90% of breaches involve human error or behavior, and threats continue to grow and become more sophisticated due to AI, that mission has never been more critical. Proofpoint’s human-centric security platform has become a key part of the modern cybersecurity architecture along with XDR and SASE.

Business Momentum & Customer Success

Ultimately, our customers decide who they want to do business with, which is based on the trust and value we deliver to them. And in Q2, we continued to earn—and grow—that trust. I am proud of the company’s consistent execution along the following dimensions:

  • Adding approximately 500 new enterprise organizations as our customers
  • Delivering double digit ARR growth
  • Maintaining a gross retention rate above 90%, with higher than ever number of customers signing long term agreements with us
  • Sustaining high growth with our data security & digital communications governance business, replacing legacy DLP and compliant technologies
  • Rapidly expanding customer base and ARR for our DSPM offering, part of our data security portfolio.

Plus, we’re seeing significant customer interest in our solution based on our partnership with Microsoft, which gives new customers the ability to get best-in-class email security via Microsoft Office 365 APIs.

Innovation with Impact

This past quarter, we advanced our leadership in delivering the industry's most integrated, human-centric security platform. We launched three first-of-their-kind solutions:

  • Proofpoint Prime Threat Protection: The industry’s first unified, human-centric cybersecurity solution providing comprehensive defense across email, cloud apps, third party supplier risks, browsers, and collaboration tools. Customers are already seeing measurable value by consolidating fragmented tools into one intelligent solution.
  • Unified Data Security: A breakthrough architecture that combines DLP, DSPM, and insider threat protection into one cohesive solution. As generative AI accelerates data sprawl, our customers now have a powerful way to discover, classify, govern, and protect sensitive data across every environment—while streamlining operations.
  • Digital Communications Governance: Built to meet the rising complexity of modern compliance, this AI-powered solution brings together real-time archiving, intelligent supervision, and comprehensive capture across 80+ communication channels. It’s a smarter, faster way to help our customers stay ahead of regulatory demands and protect their most sensitive communications.

Together, these innovations embody our focus on continual innovation, and that focus has been validated by industry accolades—six Leader positions in analyst reports and 11 industry awards so far this year, including:

  • Leader in Forrester Wave for Email, Messaging, and Collaboration Security (Q2 2025)
  • Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrants for Email Security 2024 and Digital Communications Governance 2025
  • Best AI Solution & Best Cybersecurity Company – Cyber Defense Magazine
  • Product of the Year – MSP Today

Strategic Expansion: Partnerships, Presence, and People

To deliver even greater impact, we’re scaling our capabilities through a combination of innovation, acquisition, and ecosystem partnerships:

  • We signed a definitive agreement to acquire Hornetsecurity to bring human-centric security to MSPs so that every small and medium business can get best-in-class protection with a purpose-built solution for them.
  • We completed the acquisition and integration of Nuclei, bringing the power of capturing all communications into our digital communications governance system.
  • Following our partnership announcement with Microsoft in Q1, we continued to build our strategic ecosystem with partners like Snowflake and Wiz. With Snowflake, customers can securely scale GenAI and cloud data initiatives by integrating Proofpoint DSPM with Snowflake Openflow for better data classification and governance. And our participation in the Wiz Integration Network provides threat and cloud posture protection for our mutual customers.
  • We also invested in presence and executive talent—opening our new APAC regional headquarters in Singapore and establishing the Proofpoint Innovation Center in California. And we welcomed Tom Corn as EVP & GM of our Threat Protection Group to continue to drive our innovation agenda.

Looking Ahead: Protect 2025 and Beyond

While we’re proud of our first-half progress, we’re even more excited about what’s ahead.

In September, we’ll unveil the next wave of innovation at Proofpoint Protect 2025, our flagship event kicking off in Nashville from September 22–24. We’ll bring customers, partners, and thought leaders together to shape the conversation around the next era of cybersecurity, one where AI is upending all facets of how we work and dramatically changing the threat landscape.

Thank you to our Proofpoint team and partners for your dedication and focus this quarter—we’ve accomplished a great deal together. I’m looking forward to connecting with many of you, and our customers, at Proofpoint Protect.
