In March 2018, Wombat Security Technologies realized an exciting milestone: our acquisition by Proofpoint, a leading next-generation security and compliance company. Now we’ve reached another landmark moment: the evolution of the Wombat brand to Proofpoint Security Awareness Training.
This is an exciting culmination of the integration efforts that began following our acquisition, and it is a reflection of the true synergies between our product families. As I said last year, the combination of Proofpoint and Wombat products and services was destined to bring our customers innovative security awareness training by merging our education expertise with Proofpoint’s advanced threat detection and intelligence. We’ve already realized that with our Attack Spotlight and Closed-Loop Email Analysis and Response (CLEAR) solutions, in addition to the expansion of our ThreatSim® Phishing Simulations library to include templates that reflect real-world phishing threats seen by Proofpoint analysts, called Dynamic Threat Simulation.
Though this transition to Proofpoint Security Awareness Training marks the phasing out of the Wombat Security brand (and our much-loved Wombat mascot), you will not be missing out on the people, products, and services you’ve come to expect from us. On the contrary, you’ll see even more innovation and value: As a truly united Proofpoint, we give you the ability to take a people-centric approach to cybersecurity, one that allows you to deliver the right training to the right people at the right time. We’re uniquely positioned to give you valuable insights into the specific attacks that are threatening your organization, as well as the ability to identify your most vulnerable people and departments. These critical pieces of information allow you to most efficiently leverage our assessments, interactive education tools, business intelligence, and email reporting and analysis to effectively manage and reduce end-user risk.
Over the coming months, we will be announcing additional brand transition activities. Our website and this blog will become part of the Proofpoint site, and our annual Wombat Wisdom conference will merge with the Proofpoint Protect customer event, which is held annually in early September. We will also transition the Wombat brand treatment within our products. Additional communications about these changes are forthcoming, so stay tuned.
