Wombat Security Named a Leader for the Second Year in a Row

We were honored and excited to announce this week that Wombat Security has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. as a Leader in the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Security Awareness Computer-Based Training.* This is the second year in a row that we’ve been placed in the Leader quadrant, and our improved position this year clearly reflects our commitment to excellence and our desire to continue to elevate our products and our platform.

“We believe our leadership position demonstrates the effectiveness of our comprehensive security training program as part of a company’s overall security posture,” said Joe Ferrara, Wombat President and CEO. “Our methods continue to prove that a continuous training methodology can change employee behavior and reduce risk within an organization.”

One of 22 vendors evaluated for the Magic Quadrant, we were designated as a Leader as a result of our vision and ability to execute. Gartner evaluated vendors on their products and/or services as well as criteria that included overall viability, sales execution/pricing, market responsiveness/record, marketing execution, customer experience, and operations.

Customers who have embraced our approach to security awareness and training have reduced malware infections up to 95% and lowered their susceptibility to phishing attacks by up to 90%. Side benefits of these improvements include fewer helpdesk calls and increased reporting of incidents by employees, which leads to an improved security posture overall.

Building on Our Laurels

Since we were named a leader in the inaugural 2014 Magic Quadrant for Security Awareness Computer-Based Training, we’ve worked hard to deliver enhancements to our portfolio and platform. Within the past year, we’ve had several exciting additions, including the Security Essentials interactive training module; our PhishAlarm one-click email reporting button, a ThreatSim® feature that enables end users to report suspected phishing emails to security and incident response teams with a single mouse click; and new dynamic reporting options that allow administrators to easily filter data, quickly add and remove measurement factors, and compare mock phishing campaigns. We also recently hosted a group of our customers at our first Wombat Wisdom user conference in our home town of Pittsburgh, PA.

We expect more great things in the coming year as well. Our recent technology integration partnership with Carbon Black is an excellent example of where we think security awareness and training is headed — and we intend to be a part of it. We will continue to seek opportunities to work with providers who share our goal of enabling enterprises to sense and interrupt risky employee behavior with intervention training in real time.

We hope you will continue to follow our progress and share with others the importance of a security strategy that marries user remediation and device remediation. This, we believe, is the key to effective and successful endpoint protection.
