Proofpoint Technical Training offers:
*All live Instructor Led Training sessions are fee based.
- WBT = Web Based Training – self paced online training. Free for all customers, partners, or employees.
- ILT = Instructor Led Training – live training delivered at a Proofpoint location (Sunnyvale/Belfast). Normally delivered in 8-hour day increments.
- VILT = Virtual Instructor Led Training – live training delivered virtually. Normally delivered as 5-hours a day for 3 consecutive days.
- OS = Onsite at a customer facility – live training delivered at the customer’s location. Normally delivered in 8-hour day increments
- Certification Exams:
- Test your knowledge by taking an optional exam available at the end of our self- paced training courses. You will receive a certificate of completion that does not expire.
- Become a Proofpoint Certified user by taking our advanced Instructor-Led training exams. Valid for 2 years upon receiving a passing score.

Level 2
Live Proofpoint instructor-led/classroom–based training courses are targeted at messaging and or security administrators of the Proofpoint products. The Level 2 instructor-led courses are delivered virtually, in a Proofpoint classroom or at a customer onsite facility. All Proofpoint instructor-led training class enrollment can only be confirmed with a valid purchase order (PO). Please contact your Proofpoint Sales Account Manager for pricing information. Level 2 — Proofpoint ITM On Premises Training
This training package is targeted for customers who have multiple types of Users using the solution. The Analyst course will target data consumers of the tool while the Admin training will target solution administrators.

Level 2 — Proofpoint ITM SaaS Training
This Instructor-led Training (ILT) course prepares the learner to examine and interpret information available on the Insider Threat dashboard. It also teaches students how to explore and further filter data detected by the agent to monitor and capture potentially risky user activities. Lessons encourage student interaction and include lecture, demonstrations, and hands-on lab exercises.

Duration: 2 Days.

Level 2 — Proofpoint Threat Protection
This course provides detailed information about the services running on Proofpoint Protection Server (PPS) and the features found in the Email Protection and Information Protection modules. This course also provides a classroom lab environment for configuring these services and features.
Format: Offered as VILT, ILT, or OS.
Duration: VILT - 20 hours. ILT - 18 hours.
Suggested Pre-course work: Successful completion of Introductory Level 1 Email Protection courses.

Level 2 — Proofpoint Supervision for Administrators
This course will walk you through the configuration process of Proofpoint Supervision while explaining features and exploring use cases to suit your needs. The course provides both instruction and hands-on experience. You will create and configure a compliance division; create flagging and sampling rules; and create risk-based policies that allow you to add monitored staff, rules, and review team members. You will also explore and configure different workflow options and use tools to improve review efficiency. You will learn how to use reporting for monitoring, improving rule effectiveness, and identify staff and rules with higher confirmed flags. The course also shows administrators the tasks performed by reviewers via the Dashboard, Message Review, Past Review, and Search. At the conclusion of the course you will receive reference material for future use.

Level 2 — Proofpoint Supervision for Reviewers
This course will walk you through the day-to-day activities of a Reviewer within the Proofpoint Supervision platform, including interpreting Dashboard information, accessing, and acting on messages in your review queue. You will also practice using available tools and techniques to improve your review efficiency and reduce false positive flags. The course also shows you how to run reviewer related reports and interpret their results. At the conclusion of the course, you will receive reference material for future use.
Format: Offered as Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) or Instructor-Led Training (ILT).
Duration: 1 day.

Level 2 — Proofpoint Discover for Users
This course explains how Proofpoint Discover interacts with the archive and where it fits in the electronic discovery reference model (EDRM). It provides instruction and hands-on experiences where you search the archive, save your search criteria, and store and export your search results. The course shows you how to refine your search with analytics. It teaches how to create and manage person based and ad hoc legal holds. For clients that have purchased Proofpoint Discover, this course will detail the use of Case Management, Targeted Assisted Review, and visualization functions of search results. At the conclusion of the course you will receive reference material for future use.

Level 3
Proofpoint instructor-led/classroom–based training courses are targeted at messaging and or security administrators of the Proofpoint products. The Level 3 instructor-led courses are 2.5 days (20 hours) long if delivered in a Proofpoint classroom or at a customer onsite facility. After completion of these courses, students have the option to take the online certification exam available through Proofpoint University and a grade of 75% or above is considered a successful pass. Level 3 — Protection Server
This course teaches you advanced settings, recommended configuration, and troubleshooting for PPS solutions. You’ll get in-depth knowledge of mail processing, PPS logs, TLS, firewall rules and troubleshooting, envelope splitting, and email authentication.
Format: Offered as ILT, VILT or OS.
Duration: ILT - 2.5 days, VILT - 3 days
Prerequisite:
- Completion of the Threat Protection- Level 2 course (formerly Protection Server- Level 2), receive a passing exam score or a minimum of 5 years of experience administering PPS
- Experience using basic Unix at the command line and a Telnet client for SSH
